Digitization of work book

From February 2021, amendments to the Code of Labor Laws entered into force, namely the Law of Ukraine "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine Regarding the Accounting of Labor Activities of an Employee in Electronic Form" dated February 5, 2021 No. 1217-IX, which introduces the concept electronic work book (hereinafter - ETK).

Simply put, an electronic work book is a digital version of a paper work book. It was implemented to improve the accounting of labor activities, reduce paper document circulation and the risks of damage or loss of paper documents. It is also the provision of convenient access for employees to data about their work activities, acquired insurance experience, and in the future - the possibility to automatically issue a pension without visiting the Pension Fund of Ukraine.

We draw your attention to the fact that both an individual and an employer can digitize the work book for their employees (the basis is the Law of Ukraine "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine Regarding the Accounting of Labor Activities of Employees in Electronic Form" dated February 5, 2021, No. 1217 -IX).

Regarding the term of the process of digitizing work books, or in other words, the transition period is 5 years from the date of entry into force of the changes, that is, we count from the beginning of 2021.
